About Baby Heirlooms
Baby Heirlooms is a privately-owned retail store in Salt Lake City, Utah. We call it Baby Heirlooms because we carry only merchandise that might be cherished then handed down. New merchandise such as silver gifts, teddy bears, christening gowns and gifts, wooden toys, baby books, growth charts, photo albums, baby blankets, shoe bronzing, nostalgic toys and gifts.
We also carry toys and gifts based on classic children's literature such as Peter Rabbit, Classic Winnie the Pooh, Curious George and Dr. Seuss. We even carry traditional take-me-home baby clothes and dress wear for newborns, infants and toddlers. Some people like to hold on to these, especially if a portrait will be taken with the baby in them.
Even though we are a small "Mom-and-Pop" store, this electronic catalog is a natural extension for us since there are so many small towns (and even big cities) that lack a good store with classic baby gifts. We have decided not to send out a printed, paper catalog because we don't want to contribute to deforestation and the landfill problems that come from mass mailings. (OK, we admit. They're just too expensive.)
 After having our first child, we became aware of the lack of nice toys and gifts for babies in our area. As we looked harder, we found that there were plenty of manufacturers of nostalgic and upscale gifts and toys. So, we decided to open our own retail store and carry them. And did so on a very thin shoestring budget.
In 1992, we opened a little store in Salt Lake City's famous Trolley Square (pictured here). A shopping mall made from old electric trolley garages (circa 1910). After 5 years in Trolley Square we decided to move our store out of the mall to a bigger, better location to serve our local and long distance customers better.
